Stamp Illustration
Each year, the U.S. Postal Service commissions a series of custom-designed stamps. These stamps often connect with particular holidays or commemorate important historic figures and movements. They serve as records and reminders of the things people should value in the country around them. I was tasked to create a series of three cohesive, thematic illustrations made for postage stamps that could serve as a new series for 2025.
Design Concept
During the time I was presented with this project, it was Asian and Pacific Islander month, so I wanted to create stamps that represented that culture, but it started to prove difficult for me because the details were becoming more intricate than what my abilities could execute. Then I decided to settle on doing the west coast national flowers. I needed three stamps and three states are lining the west coast, so I thought it was perfect.
