I was tasked with creating a logo for my client's small business. She sells small batch matcha, Vietnamese coffee, and Italian sodas featuring her house-made fruit syrups.

Design Concept

My client wanted a logo that would incorporate her company's main focus: matcha and her house-made syrups. After reading her mission statement, I explored various concepts, one of which was using the namesake of her cafe, which is a nickname she calls her dog. So I sketched up some ideas featuring her pup, but we both agreed it was deviating from the brand concept.

We came back to step one, and I had a clever idea: "Fruit of the Loom, but it's a matcha bowl instead of a cornucopia," and she loved it. I then asked her what kind of syrups she would be making so I could have the fruits she'd be using represented in her logo. I created a digital rendering of her logo, but she wanted a more hand-drawn feel, so I also went over it in Procreate for the colored version.
